Masarap, Masustansya at Kayang-kaya: Baked Sesame Chicken

I've always liked chicken. Chicken > Pork! For some unknown reasons, I am most attracted to the breasts and would always pass on the legs. That's just how the way it is! While, I know so many others who love legs, thighs and wings. Ha! That goes to show how diverse we are on our taste buds. Fortunately, we don't have to buy it separately. We can just buy one whole chicken, chop, cook and dig in! On a side note, I have always been fascinated with whole chickens and families. Most of the time, when families order/cook a whole chicken, nothing would get wasted, each member of the family has their favourite part and no one has to worry of leftovers. ;)

Today on the blog, I bought one whole chicken, cooked a part of it and turned it to something amazing! ;) All you need to do is to whisk together the ingredients for the marinade, pour it and let it sit then bake! Easy Sesame Chicken! Eh talagang Masarap, Masustansya at Kayang-kaya ang recipe na 'to!

Confession: I don't find buying chicken difficult, you go to your local supermarket, walk over to the poultry section and just buy whatever is available. Honestly, I always buy Magnolia chicken, it is predominant over other brands! Not only you are sure where it came from but you're also sure of the quality. I've tried buying nameless or local supermarket brands and it just doesn't taste or smell the same.

Let's get this chicken cooking!

Ingredients

4 cloves garlic, chopped
ginger, chopped
1/4 cup of honey
2 tablespoons of soy sauce (dark)
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
4 pcs. of chicken parts (thigh, legs, breasts recommended)
ground pepper
a dash of sesame oil
toasted sesame seeds
chopped spring onions, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F

In a bowl, mix together garlic, ginger, soy sauce, honey and white wine vinegar. Pour the mix over your chicken, coat evenly and let it rest.

Season with pepper and pop in the oven for 40 minutes or until the chicken is tender. Half way through, take it out and brush the chicken with the marinade.

When cooked, drizzle with sesame oil, add heaps of toasted sesame seeds and spring onions! Serve hot over rice. The sauce makes a delicious sabaw sa kanin! Bonus na din na hindi fried but the chicken is baked. It is moist and delicious!

What I liked most about SMPFC Products? First off, they are available everywhere. You find convenience whenever you shop because almost all supermarkets carry SMPC products. As for the Magnolia Chicken, I love how it is always fresh and doesn't have any funny smell. You really get what you paid for. Plus, they would chop the chicken according to the dish that you are going to cook ;) No hassle at all!
